When people in Tibet greet one another, instead of saying “Hello”, they press the palms of their hands together and say, “Tashi Deley” – which means, “I Honor the Greatness in You.” The story of Sanjaygawa and the Yak Whisperer is a hope-filled appeal to Young Ones of this generation and the next and the next, to “Honor the Greatness” in human beings of all races, religions, cultures, and creeds. It is an invitation to see each other in a new way, and to love the beauty of the diversity on this planet. The story calls us to dream together of a world where people care enough to resolve their differences without harming each other or the Earth. This timeless message magically unfolds when a young shepherdess wonders out loud if there is anything just one person could do to help heal her world. If Young Ones everywhere dare to ask that question with open hearts, they, too, will hear Sanjaygawa’s call and choose to live the miracle of peace in their lifetimes. TASHI DELEY!

Sanjaygawa and The Yak Whisperer by Rebecca Nordeman is a beautifully written, warm and inviting story of hope, love, and peace. This story teaches an extraordinarily valuable lesson that will allow children (and adults!) to ask questions and ultimately feel empowered to create change in the world at any age.

Being very far removed from little ones at this time in my life, I was reminded of how important it is to teach these values and morals to the children in our lives because they will one day become our leaders! I was also very aware of the important messages applicable to all individuals at any age. Whether you're a 7 year old grandchild or a top corporate executive - there is a powerful message to be taken away from this book.

A young shepherdess - the Yak Whisperer, is taught by her most favorite and eldest yak (Sanjaygawa), the Tibetan expression, Tashi Deley: I honor the greatness in you. This is a beautiful yet concise and impactful statement. I was so greatly impacted by the idea that when we are each connected to our Greatness or Spirit, we can become one. What a beautiful goal and path to peace throughout our world! As someone who is very new to servant leadership and just starting on a journey to transform my old ways of thinking and living, Sanjaygawa and The Yak Whisperer allowed me to make basic connections to lessons of servant leadership and help me to see servant leadership in a much more spiritual way, outside of corporate and traditional business applications. Oftentimes when you are not in an obvious or formal leadership position it can be difficult to understand and apply the skills of servant leadership. They may seem irrelevant or too advanced. The story of The Yak Whisperer helped me to see how servant leadership skills can be used in everyday life, both in and outside of the workplace, regardless of titles or position within an organization.

This is a wonderful book with an inspirational message: "Honor the Greatness in Others."

Within the covers of this colorfully illustrated 100 page "children's" book is a beautiful story of discovery. It is one child's discovery of one of the most fundamental, yet all too rare, life lessons - to "honor the greatness" in others. What a world this would be if we all could take this simple message to heart and treat everyone and everything with dignitiy and respect! This book is as much for adults as it is for children. SANJAYGAWA AND THE YAK WHISPERER imparts an uncomplicated, yet profound, message that everyone, everywhere would benefit from hearing - and taking to heart.
Such a heartwarming story. How to be a Human, or a Yak ☺️ in a loving compassionate way. So many questions, and one NOT too small answer. It tells us all ( any age ) how we're all connected. The most loving song of all. Beautiful illustrations. Truly gorgeous book. Thank you Rebecca and Chloe !
A delight to both the reader and those to whom the book is read. The outstanding water color illustrations catch and hold the attention of all who so much as glance at this book.
Such a beautiful rendering of what is real in this life. The illustrations are beautiful and accompany Rebecca's narrative perfectly. A not just for children's book.
recommend for young and old. Truly enjoyed
